Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
Casper, don't like your line due to action killers on the turn. If BB folds and you flat call there's too many cards that come to scare raiser off his hand. Another diamond, an A, lots of cards can come that will kill our action.
I c/r AI much more often than I lead. |

Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
My plan was to CR all-in if Button bets a decent amount, esp if BB calls. I just thought I had really good position to CR here. If it was HU I may lead.
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) saw flop|saw showdown SB ($201.45) BB ($236.90) 50/14/2/50 UTG ($224) Trent ($453) CO ($197) Button ($197.95) 18/18/3/61 Preflop: Trent is MP with 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 1 fold, Trent raises to $8, 1 fold, Button raises to $24, 1 fold, BB calls $22, Trent calls $16. Flop: ($73) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, Trent checks..., Button checks. Turn: ($73) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB bets $36, Trent calls $36, Button folds... My thinking during hand: Do I push here? Why did Button check it through? I'm in front still? But do I raise or push to protect my hand? My hand is strong, and I can let a cheap card come. I'm not willing to put my stack in here. But please, no diamond. After looking at this spot, I think a raise is important here. Straight draws are in BB's range too, and calling makes the river hard to play, as my hand is undefined. I would have to call an all-in, thats why I don't like it that much. What do you think? more to come. Trent. |

Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
I wish you didn't post the flop results because i was going to say that with BB cold calling a bet and a raise pf the button very well may not bet the flop. I think you need to bet because one of these two will likely have a hand willing to put in a lot of action on the flop. THe cold call from BB is often AA/KK, if button knows this he may very well not bet even QQ here.
Thus I think you need to lead and hope one of them comes over the top. And if they don't you can get a nice VB in on the turn. Does anyone else agree with this? I think going for a c/r is asking a lot with the action pf. |

Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
I should note that other posters are correct that leading looks suspicious as hell, but neither is going to straight up fold AA/KK to your flop donk so it doesn't matter

Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
flop check is good for the reasons already given
you gotta raise the turn tho. Very likely one of them has a high diamond |

Re: Set in a Re-raised pot
I play the flop the same, I raise the turn like always though...
Btw button probably checked it through because he had nothing (as in light 3-betting or missed overs)... |

I'm glad you find the flop interesting, but I had to post the rest as I have questions about all three streets. As long as the advice isn't results orientated, which I don't think it is, its all good then. A raise would be good on the turn. I then get value out of AA with flush draw. Oh well. I think I have monsters under the bed. Trent |
