Default 2/4 B&M - 300 hour checkup

...not sure if this is the correct forum but I only play 2/4 B&M so...

Just played my 300th hour of 2/4 B&M last night (I'm a purely recreational player). So far:

2/4 B&M, typically 10 players, loose & passive, $3 (maybe $4, I'm not totally sure of that...) rake, $1 dollar badbeat (I've never been at a badbeat table), $1 dollar tip

Down $318 = -79.5 BB = -0.265 BB/hr = -1.06 BB/100hands (assuming 25 hands per hour so 7500 hands overall would be a guesstimate)

Based purely on these stats alone for this type of game, which of the following is more likely:

a) obviously not good but not horrible for a beginner
b) horrible; you are the fish and don't know it
c) this type of game cannot be beaten
d) only 300 hours? pffft, come back when you've logged 1000 then maybe some conclusions can be drawn
e) don't concentrate on your rate, concentrate on your game (I know that, but...)

I guess what I'm trying to get at is that I know what a "good" rate is supposed to be (i.e. 1-2 BB/hr) but I really have no clue as to what a normal vs bad vs truly horrible rate is (i.e. over 300 hours, what would a typical horrible fish rate be?) and whether I'm at it.

Losing $318 over 300 hours of 2/4 is relatively break even.
Keep playing and posting

Probably a and e plus a dash of d. Its not b and c probably can't be answered.

Check the B&M section for a recent post by Frond on this very subject. Some good info. there.

Ask yourself this ?:

Am I disciplined in my application of a sound PF strategy?

There is a lot going on in that? If you are unclear on any part of the question, raise your uncertainy here and also (re-)read the first 1/2 of SSHE.

300 hrs. is a goodly amount of B&M time. I played a lot in Jan. and logged only 126 hrs. including New Year's weekend and a trip to LV last weekend. Bad card streaks can last 300 hrs. I had one two years ago. But you should be able to tell the difference between bad cards and bad play if you are clear on your strategy. Are you?

Keep playing. -1BB/100 hands is just about break even with the rake, tip, and bad beat.

Sounds like they're raking a big bet out of every pot. You can't beat this game.
