Hand 1: Bet less on the flop to try to get some value out of your hand. 400-600 or so should do the trick. As played, he's going to call you only if he has you beat or occasionally when he has a worse ace or a flush draw, which he would have been more likely to play if you bet less.
Hand 2: Fold preflop. As played, fold to his flop push. If he's weak/tight, what range do you give him, considering how he's played this hand? |

with your effective stacks in hand 1 check as most players bet everything but aces in that spot.
hand 2 shove or fold PF, your lead/call is pretty bad c/r is better but fold is best. |
