those are 2 i cannot do, bending my ankle that far gets to be very painful. was looking for something the exact oppiste of that

If you are moving your ankle a lot for these you are doing them wrong. Foot and shin should be close to 90 degree angle to each other.

But you could start out doing hamstring curls and leg extensions on the machines, while working on your dl/squat form with just the bar or a broomstick.

Just start slow and move up slow.

thanks for all the replys.
I was reading in a magizine about adding blocks while squatting, blocks at an angle. has anyone had any experince with this?

I will look into the sports medicine doctor, sometimes the obvious escapes me.

Some people put a 2x4 under their heels while squatting. I don't do this nor am I really sure what it does for the rest of the squat.

Though "sitting back" and a board might solve what I think your ROM problem is. Moving your ankle too far up?
