Completely agree. I do this all the time, and get called enough to make this hugely +EV. Its stunning what people call with.

Looks like a fold... he could be bluffing the flush but that's too much $$ for me to want to find out. I would note the large bet though for future hands against villain.

You massively overpush the pot on the flop with overpairs? Please come sit in my game!

I would let my JJ go.

Don't you think you are ahead of villian's range here?

[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]88,99,and TT are all real possibilities to me.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]AA and KK would have likely re-raised preflop.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]My flop bet looks weak.

You will be correct some times, but against an unknown I think this is a very high-variance call. Even when you have him beat he will hit a flush some times. AA/KK wouldn't necessarily re-raise pf (esp AA and I think QQ/AK would be more likely to rr).

You've shown a lot of strength and he doesn't seem to care (which tells me he's LAGGY bad or has a big hand). I fold...

The point is that you typically DONT do it unless you have AA/KK or maybe QQ.....if you call this w JJ you can sit in my game anytime.....

Depends on what game/level you play. Are there often players who will be pushing much worse?

I think you need a good read on villain to be bluffy/maniacal for a call w JJ to be justified.

Your responses have made me curious what you did and what villain actually had.

If this wasn't re-raised pf it changes everything. The fact that he called your pf rr and is shoving here I would expect to see AA a lot. If not that then probably a flush draw (AKsuited). It's pretty obvious you have a big hand here from the pf play (unless you re-raise a lot pf).
