Wynton,

This was mentioned in a previous thread last nite and questions were raised as to their legitimacy/scamacy. I think the main point is that none here should risk giving them the personal info necessary to start an account until a couple major sites vet them and add them to their funding options.

I totally agree. At first glance, it seems like a legitimate operation, but I would not join up at least until some third party, like pokerstars, granted its seal of approval.

Two slight problems

The UK FSA is on the brink of severe embarrassment because the parent company of Neteller UK, which it authorises, has been characterised as a "vast criminal enterprise" - it is most likely ignoring the situation as it does not have direct jurisdiction over Neteller's US business. However, it is unlikely to allow another company that it authorises to do the same thing.

The authorisation that the company has, is severely limited and there is no possibility of this organisation solving the poker funding crisis. I don't think they can have any US customers. This is the limit of their activity:

Small E-Money Issuer Certificates
Issuing e-money is a regulated activity under article 9B of the Regulated Activities Order (RAO). Under articles 9C to 9G of the RAO, the holder of a small e-money issuer is excluded from the regulated activity of issuing e-money. The FSA will only grant a small e-money issuer certificate if any one or more of the criteria set out in article 9C are met. These are:
e-money issued to consumers is subject to a storage amount of €150 and the total e-money issued is limited to €5m;
e-money issued to consumers is subject to a storage amount of €150, the total e-money issued is limited to €10m and only issued for use by connected parties; and
e-money issued to consumers is subject to a storage amount of €150, the total e-money issued is limited to €10m and only issued for use within a limited geographic area.

This publicity is most likely an attempt to hype the value of the company.

I got as far as having it generate a user/pass for me. When you get to the point of entering your vitals, there's and extra field specifically for USA residents to enter a drivers licence #.
