Default $5 - Do you ever fold a set?

First post on 2p2 - love the site and all that. You can probably guess what happened, but I need to know if I made the right play on this. I know Harrington says never fold a set, but I had a really bad feeling about this one...

Not at a $5, but this is a WA/WB. I would call and cry when he shows the Q.

Edit: read the post bad. Fold preflop... =(. And like the other guy said, you have trips, not a set...

I wouldn't minraise preflop.
As played raise the flop allin.

You dont hold a set you have triple, which is a
much weaker hand. BB is very tricky on turn/river.
I'm sure he holds a Q and you should fold the river.

You don't have a set, but trips on the flop and a boat on turn/river. If you gonna raise this preflop (I usually just fold in that spot), make it 150 to increase FE, as you're giving the blinds good odds to continue.

I usually raise the flop. Your turn bet doesn't make any sense, it only makes the pot slightly bigger, and makes it easier for BB to push without overbetting the river, but that doesn't matter that much. I think river is a fold...

Also, even if if was a set, the 'never fold a set'-"rule" is really only valid on the flop. Depending on the board and opponent, folding a set on the turn or river can be an easy decision.

Two things, surely he has eights full of queens, not trips or a set. And could someone explain the difference between a set and trips please?

A set is when you hit the board with your pocket pair. Trips is when you only use 1 of your hole cards to make three of a kind.
