Default Listing Gambooling on your resume?

I didn't know which forum this should go in.

But I was wondering, how would you list Gambling on a job resume asuming you were an avid mid-stakes player, casino whore, and sports bettor?

I dont think that really adds any value to you, if they ask about a gap in employement you can talk about it then but I would prefer to discuss that in an interview than write it on a piece of paper

I appreciate the advice, but I have specfic purpose for listing this. I'm just not exactly sure how to list it. I did it full time (don't know so much now with all the crazy [censored])

for quant positions this is actually a big plus
for talking points this is a huge plus
for start up agressive companies this is a huge plus

I'm not worried about whether I should list it or not.... more worried about how I should word it.

any suggestions?

you're wrong about it being a huge plus for quant positions. that said, it can pay off in certain risk-taking positions... you are likely better off bringing it up in the interview if you have a read that the interviewer will be a fan than to throw it on the resume.

Maybe so, but I had an interview today and the guy loved it.

I like the idea of applied mathematics. Should I go into specifics? Would I just say applied mathematics in the area of casino games

I wouldn't try to disguise poker as applied mathematics on a resume, it will make it look like your trying to pull a fast one on them, IMO.

Now if they start talking about poker, you can bring up applied mathematics, etc...

Shoe,

I was joking... somewhat. I'd try to phrase it as applied math since most people imagine gambling as shooting dice to hordes of screaming women. Atleast I do.
