3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
Full Tilt $100 9 handed
6 folds, 16/10/3 TAG Villain raises to $4 from Button, Hero 3bets to $12 from SB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], BB folds, Villain calls. Flop (2 handed, $25) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img],3 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Hero checks, planning to c/r a bet / pot any turn if flop is checked through. Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
honestly I think you need to shut down once the TAG guy calls your 3-bet.....depends on your image. If you C/R the flop be prepared to be looked up since you're repping exactly AA/KK. If you have a tight image you could prolly get away with it.
Personally I'd fold preflop, not too crazy about defending my SB to a possible steal from a TAG. Remember, as long as you steal more than they steal from you It's +EV, so don't sweat it. |

Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
My thinking was this.
My stats are similar to Villain's. I raise about 25% of hands from the button 1st in - so I usually have to fold to a 3bet from the blinds. So I think this was +EV with ATC vs. this guy, as he can only usually call with about 3-4% of hands. Once he calls, I put him on something like AA-TT, AK, AQs, as he may realise that I can 3bet light vs. a steal. I think that my check on the flop after 3betting preflop is just about the strongest move you can make, other than an open push. No-one doesn't CB a dry flop after 3betting - except someone trying to keep villain in the hand. If you are villain, hold QQ and get c/r on the flop - are you prepared to go to the felt? I think I would lay it down. |

Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
I'll do the same once in awhile as long as villian is good enough to buy the story I am selling. I hope you took it down and showed him the bluff!

Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
I generally need more of a read than TAGish stats to try something like this.
You need to be able to know he is able to lay a big hand down when you are repping AA/KK (or JJ here). |

looking back its a little too much risk for reward unless you are setting up future plays.

Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
other than folding OOP...I think you have to bet out on the flop after rasing just because it will look like you have jack [censored] like you have... or villian will feel comitted once you repop him...but best line is to fold pre

Re: 3bet from blinds vs. a TAG
I prefer leading at this flop, it will put him in a tough spot and I think he will play pretty straightforward. I bet the flop and am done with the hand if I get called.
