Default Questions about Turning Stone.

I am 19 years old and therefore cannot play in most casinos/vegas etc. I have made a few trips to Oklahoma with my friends where we played at a couple of the casinos that are 18+. We have been thinking about a road trip to Turning Stone in New York this Summer. Could anyone give me some info on TS? What Holdem(NL) games are spread regularly, PLO, Adjoining hotel, spa, things to do around the Casino aside from gambling. Any info is appreciated.

Well I just got back from there over the weekend and it was pretty nice. It seemed to spread the regular low limit NLH, but I didn't catch a glimpse of any higher games. Doesn't mean there aren't any, I just didn't go looking for them. However I did see a 1-5 7 stud game going, along with a 4-8 Omaha H\L game running. Only had a few hours there so I can't comment on the overall of the casino/hotel/spa, but they apparently have a PGA course there.

Its also only 45 min from Syracus, so you could always go to a party there since you're only 19. I did the same because we stayed with my friend's friend in his dorm room there.

I don't know a whole lot about the Omaha games, but I know they have some...maybe like 3/6 PLO or LO. As far as NL, they have the following max: 100(1/2), 200(1/2), 300(2/5), 500(5/5), and then 300 min(5/10 20 to go) The big game (300 min game) is normally only on Friday nights, and the list will start going at 12pm sharp...so call ahead right on the money if you want a seat. Sometimes if there is a lot of interest it will get going on Saturdays. I wouldn't suggest sitting at the 300 min game with less than 3K though. Check it out for yourself. There's some good action there. Sometimes they get too tight. The 300 min or 500 max normally are the best games. If you want to play at 1/2, sit at the 200 table. It's a much better quality of player. There will be normally only 1 500 table...maybe 2 300 tables, and a few 200...there will a lot of 100 tables though. That's about par though. I hope this helps. I can expand more if I know which level you plan on playing.

thanks for the help. If i went i would primarily play the $500 game i guess. the $300min sounds good but a little deep. With maybe some $200 sprinkled in there. How is the $500 though, nitty, tight, crazy loose?

The 500 game can vary, but it's usually considered to be the best game in the house..besides the high limit games of course. Overall there are some really good players. There's a regular, he plays at every table, but he will donk some money off big time. He just likes to play. It's not too tight, and not too loose. I used to make 1K a day, going about once a week. I'm not very good...but I am tight and agressive. It's a profitable game. If I were you I'd go to the 300 max and 500 max games. Go to 200 if you want some easy pickings. The 100 is just plain wreckless sometimes. Watch the 300 min, and join in if you think you can handle it. I was building my bankroll and experience up for 300 min...then I moved

I agree the 100 and 200 are easy pickins. If you golf, the courses are sweet. 3 championship courses, 1 exec and 1 pitch and putt (actually excellant). See you up there.
