5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?
My rationale is that this guy was SS, and before he even bet I thought, if he is betting here he is AAxxx or KKxxx and my trips were best before draw.
Pls let me know if bad move or not. Re: 5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?
The converter is not counting the antes, but hopefully the rest is accurate.
Tournament: Pot Limit 5 Card Draw (50/100) (converter) Hero (1705), Seat 3 BB (1325), Seat 4 UTG (3690), Seat 5 MP (545), Seat 6 CO (280), Seat 1 Button (1435), Seat 2 Hero posts 50. BB posts 100. Hero is SB with [6c 9c 6s 2h 6h] Round 1: (150) MP raises 310 to 410. Hero raises 310 to 720. MP calls 125 (all-in). Hero discards 9c 2h. MP takes 3. Hero has [6c 6s 6h Qs Ad] Round 2: (1170) No action. Pot: (1170) Results: (in white) Total pot 1230 | Rake 0 Hero had [6c Qs 6s Ad 6h] and won (1230) with three of a kind, Sixes. Re: 5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?
I'm not laying down trips to a short stack unless the guy is so weak that he'd get blinded off before pushing 2 pair or a big pair. That doesn't describe many Stars players.

Re: 5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?
As villain raised for most of his stack before you, he's pot comitted anyway. As short stack he'll be desperate and make a move like this with just a pair. Your set is a little small, but probably fine given his sad state.
You have him well covered, so go for it. I like the play. |

Re: 5cd Pstars $5 trny bad push?
Is this a SNG or MTT? (and does anyone know if they're the same speed?)
Because I think in the SNGs, the structure is too fast to almost ever throw away a set unless you were up against someone who folded the last 30 hands in a row. A set is at the high end of most players raising range. |
