Is it the same inside source that said Andy had retired from poker on Friday night? You would think with members of the corporation owning pieces of CardPlayer they would have known there were negotiations to play since 3 hours after the first match finished. There were also more than a handful of factual errors of the intial Cardplayer reporting. My favorite was this one " At one point it appeared Harman was up a couple of racks, approximately $1 million, but slid to about even before the dinner break" 1 rack of 25K chips is 2.5 million dollars, hmmm seems like some basic math was missed in that one.

[ QUOTE ]
If someone dropped $10 million dollars on the table between Beal and a Corporation member and demanded they be allowed to play, they couldn’t. It’s the same principle as online poker rooms. Heads-up matches allow only two players and there are only two chairs offered. It’s heads-up. [/ QUOTE ] From the cardplayer article. I believe this is incorrect. Am I right? |

Yes, it was even mentioned by Todd in an earlier thread. People were curious about why some of the ONline HU specialist havent played. Todd said, if they sat down with 10 million, they could play.
In the Michael Craig book he explains this as well. They had tried to play heads up, but Ted Forrest who wasnt part of the group yet, sat down and played three-handed. nobody else sits down simply because most of the players with the roll to play, are invested in the Corporation. I have seen the placard actually at the Wynn. It reads. 50K-100K Holdem. Minimum Buy In: 1,000,000. No where does it read that it is a Heads Up only table. |

Also, be sure to get your April issue of Bluff. We will have the FULL STORY. We have hired Michael Craig to write our article. Nobody has more information on the subject, he was there for just about every hand, and has good relationships with everyone involved. I have already seen teasers, and this stuff is just as good, if not better than the book.

Right, then Andy Beal would get up. The whole agreement between the Corporation and Beal is that it is Heads-Up. It has nothing to do with the plackard, that is for gaming purposes and the security cameras. It is casino policy that if you are going to hold a game at any table, especially in Vegas, the plackard has to reflect the limit of the game.
Sure, someone could plug down $10 million, but they would have to wait their turn to play. Yes, heads-up games happen all the time at high limits... and NO, you can't just sit in on one of them. The two players have to agree to pay a certain "time" to the casino and that's that. Did you know that some hold'em games in Vegas are played strictly 8 handed, or 9 handed or 10 handed or 11 handed if the players agree. It doesn't have anything to do with the plackard and the plackard doesn't state anything of how many players are required anyway. Take it from someone with several years experience in the gaming industry, almost a decade in Las Vegas Poker and was a floor person at the Bellagio. I got a little training in the process. It amazes me the things that people write when they know something about poker, but don't have a clue as to the corporate side of it all. I was a floor person at the Bellagio WPT event when Bluff began to arrive on the scene. They are famous for taking photos with flash, knocking hats off of player's heads, touching chips or leaning on tournament tables. That just shows how little experience they have. Anyone can report, but can they do it credibly? |

Guess what, your source doesn't know the whole subject. Greg Singer, who is Andy's PR guy in Dallas, called Card Player from his office and made the announcement and told them to quote him on it. For whatever reason, that was his statement.
Did he change his mind? Did he want more media coverage? Did he want the media to go away? Who knows? It's not the first time Beal has made that announcement. But when Beal talks, people listen. When Greg Singer calls Card Player from Texas, there must be a reason. |

Funny, but different racks have different negotiations of chips, or did you miss that one. Some of the stacks inside the racks were different values. Since the number was confirmed by Todd Brunson himself, then maybe you are the one that missed it. Was it because you were so far outside the rail?
And what happened to your team today. Seems they got a little talkin' to. |
