A high stakes player seen at 15-30 is much more likely to be busto than one at .02/.04. Do you see why?

[/ QUOTE ]

Is it a trick question? Does the 15-30 denote playchips, while the .02/.04 is cold hard cash?

I give up tell me.

[/ QUOTE ]
Are you serious? Because it's conceivable that someone who's "busto" could only get rolled for 15-30, but completely inconceivable that he only has enough for micro limits.

totally unrelated but i remember about 3-4 years ago when i was just moving up to like 1/2nl or 2/4nl i wanted to get one of those free chip deals so i signed up for an account from eugeneel. come to think of it, i'm not sure i ever got that chip set. [censored], maybe i did, i dont know.

i do remember seeing him playing at like 15-30 or 30-60 or whatever the biggest games were back then and thinking "wow this guy must have a ton of money."

Maybe it's his girlfriend playing on his account.

I know my account has seen action from .25/.50 to 100/200 in the space of a week, and I know it ain't cause I'm busto or robusto.

Also, Eugene makes a ton of money off his affiliate stuff, so I can't imagine he's busto.

Also, Eugene used to make a ton but is probably about 5% of what it once was since the site departures and legislation off his affiliate stuff, so I can't imagine he's busto.

A while ago Eugene, Ray D., Woodrow, and someone else (GCC as they were known) pooled their bankroll together to play 500/1k against Daniel on FCP. Daniel and Gargamel beat them out of ~$200k-$300 (or somewhere around there as I recall).

more likely then not a HS player is playing micro stakes for fun. if they are playing 15-30 it might seem as if they are building there roll again. no HS player will drop to microstakes, they will get a loan or get backed.

wow.. sick how that works. i remember that and thinking wow what a huge game. it obviously still is, but i just find it sick that it used to be a few guys pooling their money together to take on DN and i thought it was incredible, but now i have actually played that high myself.

After hearing about this, I searched "Dreamclown" in the archives. Ended up spending a good half-hour reading threads from that time, very entertaining stuff.
