Why does AA call 3 bets?

[/ QUOTE ]

Because nobody that plays AA like the villain did on the first three betting rounds is going to fold it on the river.

“Might he have said, “I think I still have you beat” if his hole cards were the jack of clubs and another club, giving him top pair on the flop, and a flush on the river? Yes he might.”

Not though if you’re interpreting ‘still’ to mean ‘despite…’ as you appear to be.
Although he’d obviously deduce he was likely *still* in front on the river if he thought he were on the turn, he wouldn’t use such language. Similarly, for AQ.

If it’s an honest tell then it indicates a hand of decaying strength, not a verbal slip of the factual street by street assessment/account of the winning/losing state of his hand.

regards.

"I had noticed something about this guy, and this river raise of his was a perfect example of it. Time after time, it was as if he hadn’t decided on what he was going to do until the very instant he did it, and it jammed my radar, and that got me thinking."

I have GOT to start playing live poker. This is the only thing I do that would be considered a good poker trait.

In fact, I almost NEVER know what I intend to do until I do it, and sometimes I still don't know why I did it, or if I did what I intended to do to being with.

When it comes to not knowing what I'm going to do until I do it, I may be an idiot savant.

Finally, indecision and ineptitude will pay off.

I just thought that this post was a nice break from the internet hand histories with no commentary.

Enjoy,

The whole story is all about the Theory of Restricted Choice. What are the odds that the word "still" gives away his hand? Overall it reminds me of Jamie Gold talking about his holdings at the final table. The difference is that we know that Gold did it intentionally.
