Default Bodog $50k guar - QQ MP

Hi all,

Played in the Bodog $50k guar tonight. Huge overlay - prize pool was only $35k.

22/704 players left. Blinds 3k/6k 300 ante
Avg stack - 99k
Hero's stack - 115k.

Table has been pretty tight. Not many flops seen, always a raise PF.

Hero is MP with QQ
UTG raises all in for $66k - huge raise.

What do you do with QQ here? UTG took a beat a little bit before this hand. Otherwise no good read.

I'll post results later.

As long as you're not folding, it doesn't really matter how they get in there, just shove em in.

Instapush, and it's not close. Generally, I'd put villian on TT+, AQs+, AKo, with less chance of KK/AA. Let's say it's this for simplicity's sake:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 41.407% 39.88% 01.52% 151605360 5795460.00 { KK-TT, AQs+, AKo }
Hand 1: 58.593% 57.07% 01.52% 216935208 5795460.00 { QQ }

Thanks for the advice. I couldn't put him on AA/KK here. His move wouldn't make much sense. I figured AK, but I was here to win the tournament, not worried about moving up in money. 2 more places and I move up $250 in prize money.

So I push, not call. Player behind me goes all in and I know I'm in bad shape. UTG flips over AK and player behind me flips up KK.

Is this just a case of bad luck, timing wise? Is there anyway I could get away from this hand? Calling 1/2 of your stack with QQ then folding to an all-in is pretty much out the door, correct?

Yes it's variance (bad luck).
The odds against someone behind yuou having KK or AA are very high.
This was an easy push.
Villain shoving 66K with the blinds and antes where they are is pretty standard IMO.

Yeah it's unforntunate, but what can ya do. I got lucky twice to get to where I finished, so... but gotta get lucky to win a 700+ play tourny - 12k first place would have been my largest cash.

Bodog has great structures for their tournies - im h00ked
