Default Re: a bunch of documentaries i\'ve seen lately

I just bought the COCAINE COWBOYS DVD on Amazon.Off the freakin'chain! This is the REAL [censored].I loved it when the hitmen went to go see SCARFACE and started makin'fun of it.They said it was "toned down"too much. When the SHB boys at BBV start havin' cougars for pets and keeping helicopters in their backyards and buying 8 Benzes a year,THEN they can wear that mantle. And this was back in the 80's.I just got back from Miami and there are literally 20 cranes with highrises goin' up on the downtown skykline. All I could think of was all the coke that is STILL building that city 20-30 years later. An awesome documentary, especially with the director commentary where they talk about all the stuff they had to leave out. What blew me away was the craziest, kilin'est dealer was a chick that made Tony Montana look like a shoeshine boy. This broad was making 50Mill ayear IN PRISON.In the 80's.Truly a remarkable documentary.

everyone should see this. they do lengthy tell-all sit downs with 3 of the big players from the time - 1 from jail and 2 who were recently released - super candid.

also jan hammer did the score which is a pretty sweet twist.
