Default Rookie question

Hi,

Just started reading through this forum and need some help understanding the basics. Mostly, I was reading about arbs
but I think I have a big gap in my understanding. This is probably a really stupid question so feel free to point and laugh.

Here is my problem, I see the following hockey lines being offered

Pinny
OTT +1½ -283
MTL -1½ +263

BetCRIS
OTT -1½ +225
MTL +1½ -265

Let's suppose I wager $100 on MTL @ Pinny and $100 on OTT @ BetCRIS. I'm trying to figure out how I lose

These are the possible outcomes and results that I can think of:

MTL wins by 1 --> I win both Pinny and CRIS?
MTL wins by 2 --> I win at Pinny?
OTT wins by 1 --> I win both Pinny and CRIS?
OTT wins by 2 --> I win at CRIS?
TIE --> I win both Pinny and CRIS?

What am I missing

Thanks.

Default Re: Rookie question

Pinny: MTL -1.5 +263
BetCris: OTT -1.5 +225

MTL wins by 1 --> you lose at both
MTL wins by 2 --> you win at Pinny only
OTT wins by 1 --> you lose at both
OTT wins by 2 --> you win at BetCris only
TIE --> you lose at both

OP: Your mistake is that you think you're betting +1.5 spread with both bets, when it's actually -1.5.
