KK, weird turn donk in multiway pot
So, I haven't been paying particularly good attention this session and don't have any reads. Again, I don't have PT as I'm too busto to buy it.
Ultimate Bet $0.50/$1 6-max (6 players) Hero is button with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Preflop: UTG folds, MP calls, CO folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds, MP calls. I don't think you can raise, and I don't think you can fold.

[ QUOTE ]
I don't think you can raise, and I don't think you can fold. [/ QUOTE ] First instinct was raise. Couldn't help but sneak a peak at CC's post. Im guessing you're thinking he has QT, Q7, Q6? Against an unknown we are assuming that maybe he donked with a T. If he had a queen in his hand also, he's ahead so a raise wouldn't make sense, but we should call as we have the odds to chase a board pairing. Against looser opponents the possibilities are greater. He could do this with qx [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], but thats pretty specific. He could just have a T and think to bluff with the Q card. He could think you have overs and thinks his pair is best. He himself could have had overs on the flop and just hit a pair. donks always throw me off |

Re: KK, weird turn donk in multiway pot
Villain may think his pair is good, or that you were raising with a draw (his line is most consistent with preventing a free card or with QT). If he has two pair, you have counterfeiting outs. MP is in there padding the pot. I raise.

I'm also in the raising camp.

Re: KK, weird turn donk in multiway pot
against tight players I've been trying ciaffone's donk a-lot approach - and it seems to be really messing people up (I haven't really gotten the hang of it yet).
I'll assume MP is a donkey here (and likely to call down with crap) and SB is getting frisky with QJ or QT os spades (or maybe something bigger, hoping you overplay aces) I think it's best to just call here so as not to be re-raised |

Re: KK, weird turn donk in multiway pot
I think it's close and it probably doesn't make much difference, so I can understand raising.
Thing is, if he 3-bets you have to call. One of the most difficult situations to be in and navigate correctly discipline-wise is being 3-bet on this turn, calling, and then folding when he bets the river, (assuming the other dude doesn't raise or you catch a King, etc.) This is a slippery slope when you're playing without a real read on your opponent. What happens most of the time is that we think "Well [censored], I don't know for sure if SB is a spaz, or if he's only going 3-bets on the turn w/ two-pair or better, and the pot's pretty big so I'll put in one more on the river. Oh, QT nice hand." |
