Hypothetically speaking, if I were a virtual Canadian, I wouldn't talk about it for obvious reasons.

Why not? There's nothing illegal about it. Canada isn't an offshore tax haven.

Copied this from citibanks web page:

For non-residents of Canada, you must:

Submit a signed application
Identification — Photocopy two pieces of identification of which one is a picture ID.
Bank reference letter from your current Financial Institution
W-9 or W8BEN (U.S. person only)
Copy of Social Security Number card (U.S. person only)
All documentation (i.e. application form, copies of identification etc.) must be authenticated by a Citigroup employee.

This is correct.

The hardest part of the process is getting a Canadian ID, utility bill and bank account. I'm planning on flying into Vancouver early this week to get those things taken care of. It's going to cost me $400 for the flight and around $200 for lodging, but by the time this is done I'll be able to get my money out of Neteller, sign up with Partypoker, Pinnacle, etc.

This is my first post here , but wanted to ask has anyone tried to open a ING DIRECT bank account online. then using neteller to make deposit's? I am Canadian anyway so does not effect me at all. I made a neteller deposit today for a friend from the US who made a peer to peer transfer to me first. then moved it to him via player transfer on pokerstars.

Ok maybe it wasn't that obvious. Not because I am worried about getting in trouble with the government. Unlike many of the paranoid people on this forum I have absolutely zero fear of the government or "DOJ" (this weeks buzzword) coming after me personally. Rather my concern would be that if word got out about how to play on party, then party would get concerned and do something about it. Thus putting my funds at risk.

People are using all sorts of means to sneak under the fence. This seems the most legitimate way to do it, since you use your real name and bank account, plus a working address and phone number. If something happens, at you have some plausible defense: that you maintain a virtual office in Canada.

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of photo ID can you get as a non-resident, and what utility will you be getting billed for? I'm trying to sort out how plausible this will be for me to do something like this. PM me w/details if you don't want to post publicly...thanks.
