Default Any Letip (Business Networking Breakfast) Members?

I was a member of a business referral club a few years ago and it worked great for referrals/leads. Letip seems very expensive (about $100 a month).

My town doesnt have a group so I am going to start a new one. Just trying to decide if I should start a new group (without huge dues) or use an established group with national name (Letip, BNI).

If you are not familiar with these groups they have breakfast or lunch once a week, network, hand out tips and make business friends. It's also a good way to practice your public speaking. You give a "commercial" for your business at a few meetings every month.

Only one type of business can be represented. One Mortgage guy, one car sales. one landscaper, etc.

Anyone belong to one of these groups?

What do you like/hate about it?

Any suggestions/Ideas?
