Nice post. I saw him in Pittsburgh back in September, [censored] awesome show but the political stuff gets a bit tiresome. Just [censored] play your music, no one cares what you think of GWB. [/ QUOTE ] otherwise 100% agreement |

[ QUOTE ] Nice post. I saw him in Pittsburgh back in September, pretty good show but the political stuff gets a bit tiresome. Just [censored] play your music, no one cares what you think of GWB. [/ QUOTE ] quoted for 100% agreement [/ QUOTE ] If you think about it, Bush was the face of the Iraq invasion. Maybe not the kingpin, or the organizer, but the one who made the speeches and led the coalition. That war has cost thousands of lives - Iraqi, US and others. That's a lot of fatherless children. Think also that Roger Waters lost his father in WW2. Maybe he wants to tell people that war is stupid and a waste of life. DO U C Y? "Daddy's flown across the ocean Leaving just a memory A snapshot in the family album Daddy, what else did you leave for me?" You want the full emotionally scarred and mentally traumatised summary of what war has done for Roger Waters, see "Amused to Death" and "The Final Cut". Then tell me politics and war has no place in his performing. |
