Why is family guy so funny, yet American Dad sucks so bad?

I've got to disagree with a majority of the posters in this thread....."American Dad" is some of the best political satire we have right now!

Everybody loves FG because it pokes fun at pop culture but American Dad pokes fun at American politics which to mean can be even funnier at times. It is more for politicos and someone that follows current events in that realm, whereas FG will poke fun at pop culture as far back as the 70's. And who can argue when a show takes on the political, Evangelical right? On Fox no less? Does the show have some slow points? Of course. Is it as bad as people have made it out to be in this thread? Not even close. Besides, what is more unbelievable....a talking alien or a talking infant? Stewie is probably the best character on televison but it doesn't mean he is "believable".

Give the show another shot....
