dealer error, what a moran
several limpers.
post flop the very short stack SB goes all in. the last limper tanks for what seems like long enough for a short nap. Which may have been what the dealer was doing.... He finally calls. They flip over. SB has two live cards, caller has two larger live cards. dealer wakes up from his nap and starts shuffling all the discards as he thinks the hand is over..... What to do? Or more importantly what to do when players have hit the flop. They chopped. and were way to nice to the dealer about it. |

Re: dealer error, what a moran
Deal the rest of the hand as normal.
Cool article about this in Bluff magazine. It's a bad beat story. Tj Cloutier called a players all in. TJ had pocket tens to the other guys pocket queens(?). Turns out another player had folded pocket tens. But the dealer thought everyone folded and started to shuffle. Dealt out the hand and guess what TJ gets.... ps. Don't forget the KITN |

Re: dealer error, what a moran
I have been trying to convince the homeowner who puts on our regular home game that we need some hard and fast rules concerning dealer error, as it hapens a lot in our game. Even when we are lucky enough to have a dealer, he/she is usualy a putz, and messes it up one in fifty.
My aproach to the error is to take my lucky breaks and bad beats the same way and try to not let it tilt me too bad. That TJ Cloutier story is a bad one though. |
