Australia Day PP Blackjack 2-1 instead of 3-2
Hey,
So i get this email: We've got a special promotion for our Aussie players: We're paying out at 2:1 rather than 3:2 on the first 500 natural blackjacks hit this Australia Day. Now i know nothing about blackjack, but this has gotta make it +ev to play right? Can anyone explain to me what this means? Normally if you get dealt a blackjack on a $10 hand you get $15 (for $5 profit), but today you will get $20, is that what it means? And what exactly is a natural blackjack? If it's +ev, how much would you estimate the edge is, and therefore how much of my bankroll should i risk playing? Also regarding basic strategy, what are those charts that you can get on the internet like? The one's that tell you to hit if you have x with dealers y showing etc, are they optimal (without delving into card counting etc)? Thanks for any help, |

Re: Australia Day PP Blackjack 2-1 instead of 3-2
Hey Josh,
I dont know too much about the +ev but I can tell you if you placed a $10 bet you would get back $25 ($15 profit). With this promotion, your same $10 bet would yeild a return of $30 or $20 profit. Just thought I should clear that up. |
