Weird drawing hand...
Villain is unknown. What do we do with the minraised flop, and how do you attack the rest of the hand?

Re: Weird drawing hand...
I shove here every time.
Yes, maybe he has a FD like you and if the flush hits you stack him. But maybe he has a made hand and then you'd rather not have to make a decision on a blank turn. |

Re: Weird drawing hand...
I shove. I have been seeing this a lot lately at 10NL as a response to my c-bets. Usually it is a weak pair. Unless villain calls with almost any of these pairs then push is best IMO.

You are 58% against JTo, 55% against AJo, 45% against QJo, and 34% against JJ/QQ/22 btw.

Re: Weird drawing hand...
Push on the flop.
You have between 15 and 18 outs on this flop against 1 pair hands (making you a small favorite), 12 outs against 2 pair (small dog), and you aren't in totally horrendous shape if he happens to have 2 pair or a set. Most of his hands are 1 pair hands here, so try get the money in while you are "ahead". |

Re: Weird drawing hand...
Bet a bit more on the flop, ~1-1.25. His raise is a marginal 1pair hand alot so I like shoving. You should get alot of folds and your in ok shape when called most of the time anyway.

Re: Weird drawing hand...
To those who tell me to bet more on the flop--not happening. 3/4 pot is my standard c-bet w/one opponent. Changing that is not a good idea.

Re: Weird drawing hand...
3/4 is just over .9
.8 is under 2/3 I'm also in the push camp, but I'm wondering if it's better to just call and hope to stack villain later in the hand. This type of hand has been bothering me lately. I know it's +ev to push. I'm curious as to whether there are more +ev lines out there that lose the pot more often in exchange for raking in the monster on occassion as well. |

Vs good players who will raise w/ a fairly wide range and fold tp and not go broke w/ tp when I hit and vs maniacs/lagtards pushing is great. Vs the former you have great fe and v the latter you often have the best hand and will get called by worse draws to. You have vry little implied odds against both. Vs tight/loose passive players and obv. total stations calling is better because you have virtually no fe and are looking at big hands alot which means your a 2-1 dog a fair amount. Against these guys your implied odds(esp. vs the loose passives/stations) are great. Vs total unknowns obv. gamboooooooool. Paul |
