10 NL BB flops a weak top two, river value bet?
Comments on flop and turn are also welcome.
Villain just sat down, his play screams calling station on tp or draw but who knows. I want to play this one fast, I am not that happy to see 2 callers. I decide to lead out and fold to a raise, call makes me think A9, 87, any 2 spades or another 9. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($3.6, 2 players) <font color="#cc0000">Esmerelda ??? I block bet 1/3 to 1/2 of pot; fold to a raise.

Re: 10 NL BB flops a weak top two, river value bet?
There's a good chance villian is on a flush draw here too. Possibliy an OESD that missed too.
Given that, I prefer check-calling a reasonable bet (allowing him to bluff) than blocking. We may lose some value against a 77/88 type hand that will often check behind, but there really aren't too many hands that can just call our river blocker (IMO). |
