Re: Who is the most famous person who knows your name?
How do you know Elie Wiesel? I'd be very interested to hear that story I spent a semester of college with him at Boston unviversity (I went to oberlin) studying human rights and philosophy. I wrote a letter to him in college asking to come study with him and although I'm not fluent, I wrote it in romanian so it wouldnt just get passed off by his secretary as 'another student request'. It worked! He took the time to write back and invite me. Then we did work in Romania and Hungary where he is from and traveled together writing an article on the current quality of life for jews, gypsys and other minorities in eastern europe. He's a fascinating, very smart man but many people don't know who he is. I live in NY and we have dinner or coffee every month when he's here although presently he is spending much of his time campaigning to stop the genocide in Sudan |

Re: Who is the most famous person who knows your name?
There's probably no one famous enough that I'd expect people to know that that would actually remember my name now.
Jimmy Key used to play at the big member-guest tournament at the golf course where I worked and he remember my name after I introduced myself the first year I was working and told him I was a huge fan when he was on the Yankees. I seriously doubt he'd remember me now since I haven't seen him in several years. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Key The most famous person to ever learn my name was Bill Clinton when I caddied for him. I am positive he wouldn't even recognize me if I saw him tomorrow, though I suspect that's the case for a lot of the people listed in this thread. |

[ QUOTE ] Tara Reid or Chelsea Clinton [/ QUOTE ] And do Tara and Chelsea know each other? [/ QUOTE ] Not that I know of. Tara Reid would only knows me as one of her sister's friend's that she has met a few times. I met Chelsea Clinton in a multi-day debate event in high school and happened to be collaberating with her group. |

[ QUOTE ] at least 85% of this thread is just people listing off celebrities they've met and they wouldnt have a chance in hell of remembering who they were. [/ QUOTE ] yep. [/ QUOTE ] Um, no. I think most people get the point of this thread. And this line of thought has gone through every one of our heads. Most of us decided it wasn't true and didn't feel the need to make a pointlessly derisive post to knock everyone down a notch. |
