Default getting away from TPTK

I was going over my hands from my session last night, and found this one. can i get away from TPTK here? is there any way i could've played this better earlier in the hand to not put myself in this position?

Paradise Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (10 handed) converter

Hero ($55.29)
UTG+2 ($24.12)
MP1 ($22.40)
MP2 ($35.45)
MP3 ($48.05)
CO ($17.25)
Button ($22.85)
SB ($24.75)
BB ($80.60)
UTG ($29.45)

no read on CO. MP2 seems to be a maniac who will call and/or bet with any piece of the board or any draw.

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.10.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $1.4</font>, UTG+2 calls $1.40, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, MP2 calls $1.40, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls $1.40, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>.

Flop: ($5.95) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $4</font>, UTG+2 folds, MP2 calls $4, CO calls $4.

Turn: ($17.95) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $10</font>, MP2 calls $10, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises to $11.85 (all-in)</font>, Hero calls $1.85 MP2 calls $1.85.

River: ($51.65) 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $18.2 (all-in)</font>, Hero?

Pot the flop, as its a draw heavy board. In fact a straight could be made here already. Partial bets look weak, and make it cheaper to draw .
The turn card couldn't be worse really, well maybe 10 diamonds.
I fold to the raise. No river card will give you a straight or a flush, and a J or an A just make it even harder to fold the river.
Villain has 8 or KQ in my opinion.

Hi Samurai,

I play aggressive, but that turn card makes it a very dangerous board for TP. All kinds of hands just got there to beat TP. This is the kind of board where lots of straights and 2 pairs just hit. I check the turn and see what happens, and I'm folding to any serious action behind me.

Fold preflop. Why do you want to play a dominated hand from UTG+1? Never play A-J in early position. Never.

On the flop, I would bet the full pot since you probably have the best hand. With two callers and OOP, you have to be very cautious. The turn is horrible. With two players behind me, I check and see. I fold to any kind of significant bet. No reason to dumb a lot of money into a really marginal situation.

Fold preflop. Check the turn and fold if someone bets strongly. Being OOP sucks. Fold the river.

Folding isn't horrible, but AJo is playable. Dan Harrington recommends half raises half limps as a conservative strategy at a non-tough table (sure that includes $25NL). He says to fold at a tough table.

If you choose to raise, $1.40 is too much. The BB is $0.25? Your raise is almost 6BB. 3-4BB is sufficient. Once you bloat the pot like that, it is hard to avoid commiting your whole stack in a multiway pot.
