Aggression Factor
Where do you find this in PT? I see in "More Details" I have a PF AG of 0.18, Flop AG of 2.59, Turn AG of 2.31, and River AG of 2.15 for a total AG of 0.81. So what is my AF?

Re: Aggression Factor
People normally get these numbers from the display on PokerAce HUD

Re: Aggression Factor
if your preflop agg factor is really 0.18 you are a calling station

Re: Aggression Factor
Leave PF out. There is an option for that somewhere.

if your preflop agg factor is really 0.18 you are a calling station [/ QUOTE ]Something doesn't seem right. How can my AF be that low if its at least 2 on all streets? My VPIP is 36 and my PFR is 6. PF it says out of 5k hands I raised 5%, bet (whatever that means) 0%, called 31%, checked 10%, and folded 52% for an AF of 0.18. |

Re: Aggression Factor
You're calling too much regardless

Re: Aggression Factor
Roll,
I believe the currently accepted convention is that your pfr should be around half of your Vpip, which basically means you hardly limp anything ever. |

Re: Aggression Factor
36/6 is pretty bad dude. A VPIP of 36 isn't terrible if you're a LAG, but you probably want to keep it at 30 or below at the microstakes. You might be able to ramp it up at higher stakes when you run into a lot of bad TAGs, but you do so by raising a lot more hands, especially in position. You definitely are limping and cold-calling way too much. I'm pretty sure you play 6-max (right?), so you should never be open-limping. Just don't do it. There are a few places for it, but you've got some big leaks, so write on a post-it note "NEVER OPEN-LIMP" and put that near your monitor. I've open-limped twice in the past 20k hands, and I'm only sure that one of them was probably a decent spot to do so.
Start raising more, especially from the CO and Button. Punish weak PF limpers, raising with position even when you have very marginal hands. Read Tien's guide to 6-max. It should really help you improve your PF game. Raise all pocket pairs from every position (except very rare occasions in the blinds), raise a lot of suited connectors in position. Instead of cold-calling, 3-bet lighter. 3-bet with hands like KQ, 88 once in a while. Not so often that people start coming after you, but often enough that your 3-bets with AA and KK start getting more action. I started out where you are; 3 months ago I was a 30/9 at NL 50 6-max. Now my stats are about 18/15 or so. Read Tien's guide, put it into practice, and you'll see a huge difference in your game. As for your AF, your post-flop numbers look OK, but you can't really tell much from that number alone (as far as aggression you can, but whether it's well timed or not is another issue). Once you tighten up your PF game, you'll probably find yourself in more c-betting situations on the flop. |
