Re: QQ - do something?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Plus there's not that many possible kings he's likely to have. [/ QUOTE ] What do you mean by this? I agree with your strategy, but I dont understand this statement. He can have AK, KQ, KJ. [/ QUOTE ] Well there's 2 queens out, so KQ is most unlikely. That leaves AK and KJ, maybe KTs, but i doubt it at 15/12. [ QUOTE ] i also would like to know why AQ/AJ is more likely than a K in this spot...i agree the bet sizing looks weird... [/ QUOTE ] The bet sizing is the only reason i think he might not have a K. I say AJ/AQ, but i also expect to see 88-TT, or any medium strength hand, quite frequently. It's just about as good a board as you can get for a double barrel, because theoretically, only 55 and Kx can call. |

Re: QQ - do something?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Easiest 3bet preflop ever. As played, your hand is so underrepresented that I would call the turn. [/ QUOTE ] Agreed. 3-betting preflop makes this hand play out so much easier [/ QUOTE ] Whilst I know you aren't being general here, for anyone trapped in the idea that making the hand easier means you're making the right play, it's a leak. [/ QUOTE ] yeah... slowplaying QQ OOP is a great move. |

Re: QQ - do something?
He means that by playing a hand in a way that makes it easier, for example 'betting for information', it is often not the most +EV line.

Re: QQ - do something?
Definately 3-bet flop. You shouldn't be so quick to give him credit for a K just because he bets. He opened from the button and he could have a lot of hands. He could have smaller pairs or just pure bluffs. As played, definately call the turn.

Re: QQ - do something?
Three bet preflop.
Button is raising too, let's not forget that means he could be FOS. Having said that, you've underrepped your hand and he may be trying to push you off a small pair with AJo or a small pair himself. So, I think you can call the turn. I also think that this might not be a bad time for a block bet on the river. If he re-raises, fold, but he may call with JJ-99 thinking you have 88 or that you are trying some kind of a funky representation of a K. Also, if you check and he PSBs, then you probably have to fold. |
