Default Music recommendation: Nellie Mckay

I recently purchased her double album "Pretty Little Head", and she is just amazingly tanted. Her music is heavily piano based & and I can't recall and artist so young producing such eclectic work. There are some poppy songs, a French whimsical song, soma political rocky tunes, even rap! 23 songs in all, and I dont skip many of them on a replaying. She seems not to have made it big based on playing almost 100% of her gigs in New York, but is highly recommended.

I never really got into this one. I just couldn't get past the rapping and some of the other weirder songs... "Pounce, pounce, Meow, like a pussy cat!" comes to mind.

That said, she is definitely talented. There are some definitely some good songs mixed in there.

This isn't English is it?

English music has been entirely disappointing since The Spice Girls.

Dean,

Agree 100%. If you haven't heard her debut album, "Get Away From Me," yet, do so at first opportunity. It's better than the new one in many ways.

Bought it from itunes a couple of hours ago. First impressions are that it's fair bit weaker.
