Re: $55 - JJ - Level 2
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Who said I'm afraid? But lets face it, any overcard comes and you're potentionally in trouble. I'm just saying, if you're going to raise, at least make it a real raise. It's pretty much the same reason good players never min-raise early on. [/ QUOTE ] OK, so I raise to 100, same situation follows, now what? I don't think anything is gonna keep this guy from calling (if that's you're objective) unless you're in the 130-175 range. And as I said, it's not my objective, to keep him out of the pot. My objective is to play a small pot with as few people as possible. I mean, I raise more, and I'm in the same boat, unless it folds around, and then, big deal. [/ QUOTE ] I don't know if you're just playing devil's advocate here, but what splashpot is saying is pretty basic fundamentals here. I think you know why you should raise more. If not, start by thinking about getting value and protecting your hand. Yeah, maybe it doesn't change this specific situation, but that's one situation out of a bajillion. |

Re: $55 - JJ - Level 2
No, people will play those aces all day long but what you should have done was raise him more pre-flop to push him out cause you don't want really want people to call you with jj because there are too many higher cards.

Re: $55 - JJ - Level 2
raising here is suicide. high vpip and low pfr means this guy could have a hand as strong as AQ. even if it is A2, he's probably going to the felt. you don't play A2 to fold top pair.
and yes, raise more pre-flop. money that goes in pf gives you a lot of equity since your hand's better. |
