hes raising AJ UTG which i tihnk is a horrible play, so hes probably not the best of players.

What is wrong with this? I always raise with AT UTG.

assuming villain recognizes OP as a good texas no limit hold them player. what hands do you think he puts him on when he calls the turn?

Do you think villain is bluffing on the river? or do you think he is making a bad VB?

[/ QUOTE ]

i think villian played the hand well, and given his UTG raise and the ATJx board, i think this is pretty close to a turn fold. River should have been an easy fold. I excused it in the moment by saying that my hand was underrepresented and that villian could be an idiot with AQ or have AK alot. Given his preliminary stats toward tightness, it's more than likely he's not valuebetting a worse hand by the river and calling hoping for a chop is a losing play here IMO.

[/ QUOTE ]

JK,

folding the turn is debatable, imo. even at 400NL people still tend to horribly overplay hands and just be recklessly aggressive.

*Grunch*

Honestly, what are beating that villain is value betting on the river after firing on the flop and turn? This is a clear fold IMO. FWIW, I find a fold on the turn here against any reasonable villain. We ONLY beat a bluff. I highly doubt even AQ is betting this river.

I will read through now, yada...

I know not everyone likes to 3 bet AK, but it sure would have made this hand sooooo easy to play.
Really, why call with AK? Are you not happy to take down a pot OOP with A-high pre flop? What are we hoping for when calling with AK? That another weaker A will hit?

Okay, read through. Preflop is okay. I call sometimes, 3-bet sometimes. Even though 50 hands is nothing, it is enough to sway me on a marginal decision like this. I don't think it matters that much, and it is dependent on how often you 3-bet, how often you c-bet, etc.

The flop is good too. I said I fold the turn here most of the time. I stand by that. I think that you need a read that he can a)fire two barrels, b)overvalue KK, QQ, or c)"value-bet" the flop and turn with AQ on this board. I don't think the turn call is horrible, though.

Once again, riv is easy fold.

Your going to see a set or two pairs about 90% of the time here. I would fold, but I'm sure you won and that's why you posted the hand. nh

River is an ez fold against most players, and I might find a fold on the turn.

rr pf is fine and so is calling. If villain has a tendency to heavily overplay his TP I am more likely to call...
