Inter-site transfers
Why couldn't the major sites get set up for inter-site transfers? I don't know if it would help the fish much, but it could be good for pros.
If you're running good at Stars and need to top off at Full Tilt, just do an inter-site transfer. The sites would aggregate transfers and do a bank wire once a day, week, month, whatever. They wouldn't actually be transferring all that money, of course, because I might be transferring $1K from Stars to Full Tilt and you might be transferring $1K from Full Tilt to Stars the same day, so it's just bookkeeping entries. They could set up whatever controls they need, for example, new players would be under some restriction to play before moving money, while long-time trusted players might have more flexibility, much the same as they now have on deposits and withdrawals. If Stars is your main site, and you prefer to use whatever withdrawal method they offer, then you would always have more funds inbound to Stars and then withdraw from just one site. All of these transactions would take place outside the U.S. between legitimate businesses through major banks and presumably, beyond the reach of the American Taliban. Las Vegas casinos do this with each other's chips that they accumulate, or used to anyway. There wouldn't be any new financial institution set up that would have to deal with the DOJ, the sites are already running the risk. |

Re: Inter-site transfers
There is no way in a million years Stars or any of the sites would be cool with transferring funds into a competitors site.

MAny sportsbooks allow this option (transfering funds to an account at another book). Even if the poker sites don't want to do this now, if they see a huge reduction of cash coming into their sites (due to NEteller issues, etc) they could easily change their minds. |

Re: Inter-site transfers
The transfers go both ways, just like competitor's chips in Las Vegas. Anything that facilitates players being able to move money and play is better than not being able to deposit or withdraw and thus not play.

Re: Inter-site transfers
It would make perfect sense to let them do this (especially if they know you arent abusing the system)
If would save them all money on depsoit and withdrawl fees and as someone already pointed out the sportbooks do this all the time. |

Re: Inter-site transfers
IMO the people running these companies are sharp enough to realize that this would be mutually beneficial. It def. will happen, and probably sooner than later.

Re: Inter-site transfers
It would also allow for a much broader range of deposit and withdrawal methods.
For example, some e-wallets Stars may use, while Absolute may use others. If one or another e-wallet gets shut down, and you are registered on multiple sites, there is a much better chance you will always be able to find an option. |
