Default solid mtt stats?

I am primarily a full ring cash game player. ive read harringtons books, sklanksy, etc. Reviewing some of the top mtt players stats ive noticed that often some of them raise with around 14% of their cards, yet still staying pretty tight as far as vpip, less than 20 say. my typical ring games stats are 20vpip, raise 7%. ive adjusted my raising percent to slightly over 9 at this point, and vpip of about 18(for tourneys). I feel i should be raising with at least 12 percent of my cards, maybe slightly higher. as i wish to stay ahead of hte blinds if possible. are their any statistical recipes one uses as for typical tag orientated play? i have read some players claiming to be lag, yet their stats are around the 14 raise/20vpip level, i dont see how this is lag. isnt lag generally 30vpip or higher? are my goals of hitting a raising percent of at least 12 sensible? thx for any info.

Just play poker, don't set numerical goals for something like vpip/pfr. This should vary on table dynamics, stacksizes, reads etc.

fwiw in like 5k tourney hands I have at UB (where I primarily play 100+9's, which have a good structure and deep starting stacks) I am 19/11.

Interestingly enough, at the 5/10 blind lvl (2500 starting stacks) i run like 14/1.
