How to improve a boring game
How to improve a boring game
I've played holdem, limit and NL, for years and foud it to be a very broing game. Its about 80% luck and about 20% skill. Dont believe me? then why are different players at the final table of the WSOP every year??? how does some idiot like Chris Money maker, who only recently started playing, and no one ever heard of before win the biggest tournament of them all? And did he rpeat next year? Every time I've seen some one with aces they always lose. the biggest problem is the river. too often someone gets luck on the river. Anyways, this is the way to improve the game....Each player gets 3 hole cards instead of 2....the flop is the same...there is no turn....then the river card and the showdown. Try this variation at home. The skill factor will go up. The luck factyor will go down. The getting lucky on the river problem will diminish. With 3 hole cards the game will be more interesting and complex. Try it and see what you think. mikedavis550@yahoo.com |

How to improve a boring game [/ QUOTE ] Start buying/bringing everyone at the table drinks. [ QUOTE ] then why are different players at the final table of the WSOP every year??? [/ QUOTE ] Why did Stu Ungar win the WSOP three times (not to mention the Super Bowl of Poker titles)? How do Chan, Brunson, & Hellmuth have so many bracelets? I'm sure they would all answer it's 80% luck. [ QUOTE ] Every time I've seen some one with aces they always lose. the biggest problem is the river. too often someone gets luck on the river. [/ QUOTE ] You must be watching the wrong people. A-A is my highest grossing hand and has the best win percentage. I'm fairly certain I'm not alone there. [ QUOTE ] Anyways, this is the way to improve the game....Each player gets 3 hole cards instead of 2....the flop is the same...there is no turn....then the river card and the showdown. [/ QUOTE ] Wow. What a breakthrough. I know... lets call it pineapple. |

Re: How to improve a boring game
how about we all get four cards and can use any two of them...
we won't even have to change the betting structure from hold'em either... this game should be called the crablegs cause i invented it and came up with the idea all on my own... p.s. this is my first post i've read in the general texas hold'em forum, and it may be my last... |

Re: How to improve a boring game
You really hit a homerun on your first post. You come to a forum on holdem, then proceed to explain why holdem is boring and all luck.
What a bunch of morons we all have been. Thank God you came along with your brilliant post. You must have an incredible understanding of the game. I can't wait to see what you come up with next you [censored] moron. |

How to improve a boring game [/ QUOTE ] Start a trivia contest at the table. Seriously. Getting everyone to think about non-poker stuff loosens the table up. Makes it almost like a home game. |
