$25NL 6-max QQ... When to fold?
The player behind me seems pretty good, however he is able to make some plays. I didn't think he had Ks or As because I was pretty sure that if he did have that, he would reraise me pf. Given that, how do you guys think I should play this hand.
What if I don't have any read on the player, how should I proceed? Here's why I played the hand this way at the time. I made a stardard pfr then cbet on the flop whether I have a hand or not. The button just flat called me so I put him on a middle pair or ak, aj. 2 came on the turn, I definitely not worry about him made a str8, however there are too many draws on the board if he holds Ax or 66 or 4 card flush. So I bet out again, then he reraised me. At that point, I thought 1. he might be making a move on me with pure bluff. (He has done that a few times before this hand. ) 2. It was a semi-bluff for his drawing hand. Therefore I called the turn raise. On the river, he instantly shoved, so I thought he was on a total bluff or holding a very strong hand like fh because I think he planned to move all in no matter what the river comes when I called the turn raise. I didnt know what to do on the river and I called it thinking the overbet has a higher percetage of being a bluff since I just flat called the turn raise. Re: $25NL 6-max QQ... When to fold?
pot the flop. As played, calling the turn is ok, but I wouldn't have called that river or many rivers if he were to push. What do you beat?

[/ QUOTE ] 33, 66, 77, 88, 99, JJ, AK, AQ, AJ, AT, any two random cards without a 5 in 'em wanting to make a play here (that aren't diamonds). This guy is assuming you have nothing on this dry board and betting accordingly. I call the shove. |

What kind of hand do you think I'll need to call the river bet if I don't have much read on the player?

Re: $25NL 6-max QQ... When to fold?
I was pretty sure he didn't have A3 or the flush. 1. He is a pretty decent player and I don't think he would call my pfr with A3. Maybe 78s but not A3. 2. He shoved on the river instantly so I didn't think he got the flush. I didn't really put him on a flush draw since the flop because I think he woulda raise me on the flop.

i have a question about hands kind of like this. would a small blocking bet on the river be an idea?

Re: $25NL 6-max QQ... When to fold?
Would guess 5X or 44 (or maybe some overpair), why c/c the flopbet? 44 is a typical c/c hand I think (and also a possible coldcall hand PF). And when he got the extra $4.5 he stopped slowplaying and then pushed the river.
edited/added: if blockbet as you call it then b/fold to his all-in I guess |
