How bad did I play this?
This is from a 1-2NL game here in town and I'm down to about $160. Afterwards I felt that I played pretty poorly, but also thought maybe it was a tough spot. You tell me.
I'm UTG with KQo. I thought about raising but I limped. 4 other limpers, button raises to 15. I call & 2 others called between us. Now this guy who raised, I've been playing a lot with lately and I consider him a better than average player but not very good. He raises frequently to $15 with marginal hands and the last time I played with him I felt he was intentionally trying to push me off hands with big bets because he felt I wasn't strong enough to call. Not too long ago I scooped about $400 off him in one hand when we both flopped a flush, me with AK[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and him with JQ[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I got all my money in the pot with never raising or betting. Anyway back to the hand... The flop is AKK. I'm first to act and I bet 15. One person calls, one folds, the guy on the button raises 25 more. I figure he can only beat me with AK or AA, and I didn't think he had either because he would have raised more preflop or when raising me after the flop. So I go all in. He calls and turns over AA. Turn is a blank and river is another A. I guess I just got punked. |

Re: How bad did I play this?
You played the hand fine. You didn't mention your stacks. Unless the stacks were 1k effective, I don't mind going broke w/ KQ there.

It sounds like there were at least 8 players, so limping KQo UTG is very bad. Limp/calling KQo is worse. Raising is still bad with a full table, but if you feel like you have a huge edge in this game, I don't mind it too much. Postflop, meh. It's hard to get away from trips, but then again is this guy willing to bluff all his chips? |

Re: How bad did I play this?
So are you saying that with a full table you should throw in KQ when UTG?
