Not an angle, not a dick move, it is called playing poker.

I think the dealer made a mistake. He should only have forced that guy to stick to his raise if you folded. As soon as you called UTG, the guy's raise should have been taken back and he can now make any action.
And I believe this rule is in place so that players in a position such as yours can't exploit the situation. I am not saying you did anything wrong and I do like your level of thinking here. But most rules are in place to achieve fairness and integrity in the game and one was missed here IMHO. |

Actually, the dealer was wrong, at least in the rooms I play in. An out of turn play is not usually binding.....

An out of turn play is not usually binding..... [/ QUOTE ] Right, unless this is no action from the players who were in between the original player and the out of turn player. If these players fold, then out of turn player's action should stand because nothing has been affected. The reason for this is that out of turn player should not be able to make a raise, have players ahead of him fold because of his raise, and then take back the raise and just call. When dealing with rulings, fairness is usually at the root of any decision. |

I did something similar in a tourney at Borg back December 23rd I think. Late in the tourney someone called, then a guy raised out of turn, he had to take it back, I limped KK, he duly raised, caller thought about it a little bit and folded, I pushed, OR called with AK and MHWG.

Not an angle shoot, but not nearly as sweet/creative/interesting as you seem to think.
