To be comforted by the fact that most players won't be using HUDS, but at the same time be unconcerned/oblivious to the fact that the lack of player names makes WPEX a circus of colluders and bots is idiotic.

[/ QUOTE ]

What is idiotic is to say that WPEX is a circus of colluders and bots.

It's true that identifying collusion and bots would be easier with names in hand histories. But, if every player is vigilant and reports fishy behavior, then we should be able to keep a handle on it.

Despite all the hot air about bots and collusion on WPEX, I've never seen anything terribly unusual in my many hours on the table there.

[/ QUOTE ]

agreed. all i have seen is bad players who give me money. if they happen to be bots or colluders, they are horrible at their botting/colluding.

I have moved 100% of my play to wpex. My only issue has been the fact that there was a way to get around the hh issue. I would have preferred to keep the names in the hh's, but I am perfectly fine with the way things are now, because the namegrabber has been rendered useless.

I agree with everything Benjamin has said in this thread, I too have not noticed anything unusual in my many hours of play. Also, please do not change the 100% rakeback, even to 75%. The player base is slowly growing, and once it gets to a little higher level, the growth will be exponential.

I feel the change to the 'Aces Never Lose' promotion will help in that regard. Unfortunately, I don't see it being enough to trigger the fast growth we are all looking for. From an earlier post I saw that you were considering affiliates which is probably a good step as well, but is it possible with a 100% rakeback structure?

[/ QUOTE ]

Have you considered that it may be possible for them to adopt affiliates who would recieve a decent percentage of profits resulting from players who bet on sports or play in the casino?

What doesn't seem possible, though I hope it sticks for as long as possible is this AA promotion. It's got to be a tap on the old coffers. Actually, it's not likely as much as I originally thought so hopefully it will stick.

AA's come ever 1/220 hands. At normal full size limit tables they will lose about 30% of the time. Now given that the site is full of week tight players and the fact that this number must be adjusted for 6-max and NL tables I'll make what I believe to be a very conservative estimate and say that AA will lose only 10% of hands. But still, that means a pay out every 2,200 hands. WSEX avgs somewhere around 225 hands/minute in my low tech calculations(I don't know if some of these are play money/unqualified tables or not...so lets cut the number down to 100 qualified hands/minute). Alright so it's possible they pay out every 2.2 minutes if every winning hand is reported (a lot more will now because of the advertisement when the software is opened up) so let's ajust this to once every 4 minutes and we get 720 payouts a week. Probably something to the tune of 25k a week. If I had to make an estimation based on all these approximations that would be my guess. Not as much as I thought initially, but still a chunk of change to hand out. Far off GM?

Default Stu8 lost aces payment denied

[ QUOTE ]

We are still paying on Aces for Stud H/L.

[/ QUOTE ]

I was just denied payment for a stud8 aces hand. See text of email below from customer support (which mentions stud8 not being eligible):

"Your hand# submitted is not eligabe for the aces never loses promotion.

Please see more details below:

Aces Never Lose (Details):

This promotion applies to real-money Texas Hold 'em & 7-Card Stud games only (7-Stud H/L games are not eligible).

Three or more players must be dealt into the hand for it to qualify.

A hand must go to a showdown to qualify.
7-Stud: Both your 1st two cards down (hole cards) AND your last card down (7th Street) constitute a qualifying hand for this promotion.

Regards

Narissa"

I have written back explaining and linking to WPEX GM's post saying stud8 was eligible. I have also PM-ed the GM.

This seems extremely wrong. Split aces don't count? Spiking an ace on the river does? GM, please clarify the stud and stud/8 rules.

Especially since in the past couple weeks some people got paid for split aces, and some didn't.

While I have greatly appreciated the site and it's features, has anyone else noted that the new aces promotion hurts West Coast players? I am really only able to log hours in the late evening - now what was a twice a week aces promotion is now zero times per week for me and any players like me.

Are there others out there impacted in this same way?

Quite simple: The chance to get AA in your first two cards is 220:1 as we all know. Once you add split aces it goes all the way down to 75.7:1. If they would pay these also, you can bet that I'd be switching to 7CS instantly

Hence the surprising number of stud8 players recently on Aces Never Lose. Obviously paying split aces was a mistake. And they should probably clarify that if you win any part of the pot then you don't qualify for the bonus.

I'll be happy if they just go back to paying for cracked aces in the hole in stud8.
