So you agree that the North shouldn't have invaded the South? I wouldn't have thought this of you.

Anyway, my point is that you were giving a bad reason. Since the first Gulf War did happen, Iraq violating the terms of its surrender most definitely qualifies as "provocation". I certainly agree with you in that we should never have been over there in the first place, but claiming that there was "no provocation" is silly. It might not be provocation you happen to care about or think justifies a war, but there was definitely provocation.

Why would this surprise you? I've never posted my beliefs here before. I'm almost always just playing devil's advocate, generally to ACists' positions.
