Yea, this happened on the table right behind me, I was looking straight at it when it happened (or at least one of them).

Apparently some cowboy asked a man not in a hand to be quiet (he was talking to his friend not in the game). The man did not hear him, and continued to chat, so he dived over the table and punched him square in the nose. Blood was everywhere and it looked like his nose was broken.

It was funny because the guy then asked him if he wanted his hanky. Who breaks a guys nose then trys to help him?

Needless to say the poker room basically stopped playing cards for about 5 minutes.

The guy that was talking during the hand that wasnt even in the hand was talking in another lanuage and was from like the middle east or something. Poor guys nose was slanted over his face and it took like 3 or 4 towels to stop the bleeding.

Ok, can someone please tell me how to get around Tunica without a car? This bus service stops at midnight or 2am, and I'm staying at the Grand.

What exactly am I supposed to do if I'm playing in a tourny at the GoldStrike and it runs after 11pm? Anyone have any ideas let me know.

Shuttle service between Grand & Gold Strike was ramped up on weekends last year (I was there during WPT championship event). Finding out which bus to take was a bit of a chore...we did a big loop once.

If I went back, I'd definitely rent a car in Memphis:

1) save the $60-80 each way cab/shuttle fare to casino from Memphis airport
2) run between Grand & Gold Strike hotels on my time

I guess car rentals from Memphis are dirt cheap ($25/day I was told). Even just to & from the airport would've saved $$.

yeah, that's good advice for newcomers to Tunica who are flying in (albeit a little late for this event I guess).

Shuttle fare is that much from the airport too? Then DEFINITELY just rent a car.
And this is especially true for anyone who expects to do ANY casino-hopping around Tunica because taking the shuttle would have to be too inconvenient.

Horseshoe and Gold Strike are practically attached to each other...so that's not a problem.
But the Grand is not something that you can walk to.

Hell, I think renting is the better option even in LV (where cabs and shuttles are everywhere unlike Tunica)

I did one LV trip with no rental....all cabs, shuttles, monorail. Not as convenient sometimes...and kinda pricey.

Did another trip with a rental. Liked it much better.

For $30/day or so I think having your own car is the way to go on Tunica trips.
Only way it isn't is if you are staying at GS/HS and pretty much have zero interest in going anywhere else.
