Default odds

hi, question about odds and statistics by a newbie:

1.) In a book i bought and on some webpages(pokerone.com) there are statistics written in the "1 to x" format and next to it the percentage format. According to my calcs the number next to the 1 to should always be a 100 when multiplied by the percentage figure next to it. Example: 1 to 10 is 10% (10x10=100); seems like basic maths to me

But in this book and on the page the numbers just don't match up. Example: If you hold no pair, you'll pair at least one card on the flop: 32.43% next to it it says: 2.08 to 1
These two numbers just don't match up; 1to 2.08 is not 32%

please help me out of my confusion
Thx

10 to 1 is not 10%, it is 1/11 or about 9.09%. 1 IN 10 would be 10%, and this would be odds of 9 to 1.

2.08 to 1 is 1/3.08 or about 32.47%. If it were 1 IN 2.08, that would be 1/2.08 or about 48.07%.

Odds against winning express losers:winners, while fractions express winners/(winners + losers).
