How has your life changed in 10 years?
Something i found at the somethingawful.com forums. Its a great read, if for no other reason than self-evaluation. A few of the longer ones were particularly interesting.
Here it is FOCUS: How have you changed over the past ten years? For better or for worse? Why? |

Your topic is too intellectual for this forum and the people that post here btw.

Re: How has your life changed in 10 years?
10 years ago I was in the Coast Guard stationed in Alaska. I'm pretty sure I had just payed off all my college debts and was dreaming about my "retire at 40" plan where I'd save $10k a year for 20 years. I had 2 years of college under my belt.
Now I live in Las Vegas. Supposedly I play poker for a living but in reality I just surf the net, watch DVD's, and play WoW all day. I finished my degree (in math) a couple years ago. I'm running out of money (15k when I left college, ~8k 1.75 years later). I'm frequently depressed. I pretend that I'm going to be studying for the 3rd actuarial exam but that's probably not going to happen. The really sad part is this is the 2nd time I've played poker as a career. First time I started with $50k from the CG savings then saw it dwindle to $5k over 3 years before I went to college (most of the loss was from the stock market). I obviously didn't learn my lesson. |
