Default Are you pushing any +EV situation

I just got SNGEGT and am wondering what EV diff are you pushing with? For example, 4 or 5 handed, are you pushing with +.1% EV diff? +,5%? what %?

Same question except what %EV diff are you calling with?

Thanks for any help.

lol there have been like 10+ threads on this topic in the past month. You can forgo some +EV spots for more +EV situations in the future.

No, you should not be pushing every +EV situation. You should also take into consideration other factors that exist at your table. The positioning of stack sizes and tightness of players acting after you should be considered. Tight players acting after you is +EV compared with loose players acting after you etc. Here's an example. Blinds 200/400, 4 handed
UTG 5500 folds
BTN 4000 Hero is dealt 56s(+.3EV or more)
SMB 2000
BGB 2000

Almost any reasonable hand is + .2EV to push in this situation. But if you have loose donks in the blinds, this push is bad. Your stack domination is more valuable than taking a +.2 push here. If you had tight players in the blinds, this would be a better push. My default pushing against loose players is 22+A2o+K9s+K10+Q9s+Q10o+JTo+J9s. Against atleast 1 tight player in the blinds, I would push wider. SNG's aren't about making winning plays, it's about making the highest EV decision based on all the factors at the table. Hope this helps.

often in sit and gos you pass up on slightly +EV spots because the potentially +EV spots in the future may be compromised if you took them earlier. its all about table factors.

Yeah I basically take every +EV spot. There are times I will throw away +EV hands on the bubble/ICM but they aren't typical. Like I was in an SNG earlier today where a dude was playing every hand no matter what. I just folded every hand but one and let him implode. It took about 6 all-ins but finally he went bust.

This and there is a value associated with folding. ICM calculators and most analysis assume folding to be neutral EV(out of the blinds) while often that value is positive.

The smaller the edge you take the bigger your swings will be, and at the lower stakes games there are enough players making mistakes that you can pass up on small edges.
