I spent yesterday in the Northwest Territories... -36 Degrees Celsius. Very cold.

In the midst of the ice storm from hell where I live. Roughly 2/3 of the city is w/o power. The third wave of the storm is due tomorrow and more outages expected.

I'm lucky and still have power, but falling limbs have damaged the roof of my apartment building and I have water running down the inside of an outer wall. Have had buckets and towels out for nearly 24 hours now. Running a fan to dry carpet.

We get our cold Monday......highs in the teens, lows in single digits. Fun times. But at least I am warm (for now) and have chili in the crock pot.

Well, this may not get much sympathy, but according to my Weatherbug (TM) it only got to 47 today here in PHX. It's currently 34 with a projected overnight low of 26. That's pretty cold - FWIW I think the lowest temperature ever recorded here is 19. Also in a related LOL the city has their annual marathon in the morning - the Kenyans and their 2% body fat are gonna be miserable in the freezing cold.

Also on a related note, I haven't needed to turn on my heat for the last several winters. [img]/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img]

EDIT: to echo what CDS mentioned - it was really warm here all week, something like mid-high 70s as recently as Thursday. I remember walking into the gym at 6AM on Tuesday and the LOW was in the low 60s. Strange days indeed.
