Default Top two, what to do?

A couple of orbits ago, I stacked off $70 4-barreling a busted SC flush draw. Tribecca doesnt show mucked hands, but I got beat by AJ on an A-high flop. I must have looked pretty donkish.

The original PFR is pretty tight (18/5) and the button is 40/10. No real reads other than that.

100NL 6-handed.

Dealt to hero in SB A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG raises to $3, 2 folds, Button calls, Hero calls, BB folds.

Flop ($10) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

hero checks, UTG bets $4, button raises to $12, hero calls, UTG calls

Turn ($46) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

hero checks, UTG checks, villain bets $40, hero??

UTG and I have $90 left, button covers.

Wtf does UTG have..KK maybe?

Button probably has A7/A8.

I like a push.

push all day. You are only beaten by a set and 78/Q8/Q7 (which are all in button's range) are very likely here. I also like a push because UTG doesn't have you beat right now.

chops,

I assume you're debating between a call and push here, right? Maybe in hopes of stringing UTG along, or if you're afraid button is dumb enough to fold a hand if you push.

I dunno. I just push it.

Actually I folded this

Button showed a lot of strength raising the PFRer and firing a near PSB on what should have been a scare-card. I thought he likely had another AQ or a 77/88. I'd be paying $90 to possibly get back 1/2 the pot ($40/2 = $20). I doubt A7 or A8 raises the flop too often, but a badly played 78 is possible too though.

Maybe I'm giving villains too much credit, but it felt right at the time. Is this completely ridiculous?

Pot = 10
Bet = 4

Pot sized raise is... 4 + 10 + 4 = 18 in pot

18 + 4 = 22

Pot sized raise here is 22... a raise to 12 is not even a raise.

I would never in a million years be even somewhat kind of a little bit afraid to get it in with top two... ESPECIALLY with 98 whatever whatever and two spades blah blah blah...

I meant his turn bet was a near PSB, not his flop raise. I guess I was trying to put him on a range I was ahead of before pushing. But ya he could easily have been double barreling OESD.
