Top 2 faces a turn raise, 5/10 live
5/10 NL at Motor city in Detroit. I have $1000 and basically everyone at the table has me covered. Villain in this hand is loose passive. The game has been playing very loose and very passive preflop. Usually like 6 or 7 seeing the flop for the minimum. My image is also pretty tight, and everyone at the table knows I've been running miserably this session, which is party why I led the flop. I would have trouble getting value on the flop if I check-raised.
I get A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] utg and limp. Several limpers. Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Pot is $60 I bet $50, CO who's a little loose but not crazy calls, Villain on the button, who is pretty loose but pretty passive, call. Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Pot $210 I lead for $200, CO folds, Villain raises to $500. At this point I have about $800 and villain has me covered. Before I say what I did, and give results, what's your play and why? |

Re: Top 2 faces a turn raise, 5/10 live
I could see 45 calling the flop with the double gutterball draw, and not raising b/c of the flush draw there. I could find a fold honestly, but normally I'm broke on this hand. If I'm running bad as well, I never fold this. If this guy is smart enough to raise when he hits his hand, and you don't think he has something like A2hh, then fold is correct(sry man).

Re: Top 2 faces a turn raise, 5/10 live
You say he is passive. So a raise here will most likely be a monster right? Has he raised a turn bet before? If so did he show the goods? This hand is very dependent on villians raiseing range. If you include any two pair/pair+draw then it is an obvious shove. But if he is truly passive, then a raise usually indicates someting like a set/straight more often then not.
