I want opinions on HollywoodPoker's rakeback set-up. Apparently you need to trade in points to start it & make a $400 deposit, then you have a fixed number of days to earn up to $400.
After that period is over, you need to make another deposit of $400 and have another 60 days or something like that to earn the bonus. It seems like a total waste of time, is it?? I'm looking for a top-tier site (other then FTP) to get rakeback on. I want to pay no fees to receive my RB credits and I want to be able to fund my poker account using eCheck or FirePay or Click2Pay as I’m done with NETeller. Thanks! |

The Hollywood scheme works as follows:
You sign up and get a normal sign up bonus... You clear the bonus and earn points doing so... In clearing the bonus you earn HWP Points... When you have cleared the sign up bonus you exchange 1000 HWP points for a $400 bonus which has a 10*Points clearance You then clear as much of all of that bonus as you can...you have 60 days....it is released in $100 clips. If you clear it all within a week you just buy another bonus with 1000 points.... If you only clear a portion of it you can buy a new $400 bonus and start over There is no redepositing required. We are getting very positive feedback from players on this as the equivalent rakeback rate can be as high as 70% As always it's horses for courses.... Kind regards RakeTheRake |

So if I'm geting this correctly, each time I want to earn rakeback, I need to trade in 1000 points which is equal to $100 just for the honor of being able to earn that bonus?

No you trade in 1000 points to buy a $400 bonus
Here’s an example for how the bonus stacks up: A player plays ring games (10 seated) and earns 4000 points in a month to clear their $400 bonus. In earning 4000 points, that player’s tables must have contributed 4000*0.1/.07 = $5714.28. Assuming the ‘average’ player at that table is the player in question, then he or she contributed $571.43 to earn the $400 bonus. This equates to a 70% rakeback. Of course, this is the highest end model. Something toward the lower end would be the model for 6max. In the case of a 6max table, the rake paid by the ‘average’ player would be $952.38. 400/952.38 = 42% rakeback. Hooe that's of some benefit Kind regards RakeTheRake |

What if you're already on the 30% rakeback does this mean you're losing out?

Is it necessary for me to have signed up through an affiliate to do this?
I am only a bronze member (haven't played there in a while), but don't se this bonus? The only bonus I can get which costs 1000 points, $10 7x. EDIT: Oh, I gotta be Walk of Fame member to do this? |

The $400 reload scheme has been designed as a substitute to rakeback by HWP since they have been getting pressure from OnGame. Currently it is only available to us and to be honest we dont know which other rakeback affiliates...
