"Four Winds" (my error). Opens third quarter 2007. That's where the poker action will be. Very first I-94 exit after you cross the Indiana state line into Michigan.

I think you have a misconception on the driving in and around Chicago. I do most of my playing on Friday nights and the weekends. I live 25 miles north of downtown Chicago. It is shorter and slightly quicker for me to get to the Indiana casinos on a weekend day than it is to get to the Pot. I choose to go to the Pot for several reasons, though without the mid-level games going consistently (5-10 and up), it makes the Pot a poor choice compared to Resorts.

Magoo, What is Four Seasons and where is it located?

Ive taken that drive on the weekend before, that's a long drive into Michigan.

Most people from Milwaukee are not going to take that drive over just playing locally. (if they have a choice that is)

BigAlChicago probally knows more about the drive then I do otherwise from Northern Illinois/Chicago.

I was thinking mostly during the week when Chicago is basically one big line. I agree Ive been thru there on the weekend as well (to Homewood from Milwaukee) and I got thru the city easily.

Did anyone notice what tribe this new casino happens to be under? (I know it probally doesnt matter, it looks like legally it's a diffrent entity)

In any case, the idea is that they will start to spread higher limit games 20/40 and 30/60 with a 3 dollar rake.

There is currently a huge list for 30/60 which is scheduled to start on Tuesday at noon.

[/ QUOTE ]

So did the game run on Tuesday? What was the rake? How many tables?

I think it did. I was there yesterday and overheard the cardroom manager saying they raked in $150 an hour and the NL table raked in $80 an hour. He also said the goal is to run more higher limit tables than NL tables. Although they were running 4 NL tables last night and the highest limit table was 5/10...

The game kicked off full at noon and was down to 6-handed by 7. But that was mainly due to one player upsetting the entire table over some technicality and people started leaving after that. We played short-handed until about 10.

I think the game has a definite chance of going strong once people can come to expect it being there. I don't know about the Milwaukee players, but quite a few from Chicago would be willing to make the trip once they KNOW the game will be there. Otherwise, they're not going to take the chance. Hopefully, it will get off strong again this Tuesday.

Kevin,

So are they rolling over the names each week like Hollywood does? and the start time will always be noon? Also I heard rumors of a $3 rake, what did they rake?

Actually the more important question is, How was the game? I use to play 20/40 with you quite a bit at resorts when it was still Harrahs. Was it mostly regulars from the resorts 20/40? Drop some names.

Is the entire expansion open now at the Pot? What games are they running now? Same as before with more tables or anything new?

Yes, from what I understand this will be a feature game similar to the way Hollywood does it. Those in the main game the prior week have guaranteed seats for following week.

And yes... A $3 rake!!! Most of the players didn't seem to care (or notice?), but I'm really juiced about it! It's a great gesture by management and I'm definitely impressed.

As for the games, I haven't seen a bad one yet at the Pot.

Do you ever make it to Resorts anymore? Games are really good there too. We just started getting a 50 off and sometimes we can kick it up to 100/200. It's not consistent though. It went off Thurs, but not Fri or Sat even though the room was full. I think it's all about word of mouth. Once people know they can expect a game, they'll come.

The expansion seems to be complete from what I could tell. It's still mostly all low limit though. I think the highest NL is a $500 max and the highest regular limit game is 10-20 (if that).

I live in Rockford now so that's why I haven't been to Resorts in a while. The $3 rake is sweet, I'll be up there Tueday to check it out, if it's any good I'll switch from Hollywood to the Pot as my Tuesday game. Holly's $6 rake is disgusting but the 20/40 has been so juicy lately.

This past Friday night from about 7-10pm, the lists were 45-50 for 2-4, 30-35 for 3-6, and 20 or so for 5-10. Don't recall what it was for the NL games.
